FABRICS
SURFLEX® brings with it indelible qualities: patented authenticity for the innovative construction and production process and certified sustainability. It is a technical fabric with a super matte appearance reminiscent of more traditional textures: it is compact, soft and versatile, while continuing to be ideal for the creation of elegant, easy care, super stretch, non-iron garments.
It is made from 100% recycled polyamide yarn from pre- and post-consumer waste that is recovered and regenerated to become new raw material without affecting non-renewable energy sources: the fishing nets recovered and cleaned through a sophisticated physical-chemical breakdown process are regenerated into new, totally recycled yarn.
CONSTRUCTION
SST – Selective Stitching & Taping
A garment construction that features both thread stitching and heat-taped seams in different percentages, chosen according to type and functionality. Taped seams are only applied to the garment at the points most exposed to rain or wind. The taped parts are the armholes, shoulder area, collar and hood.

This is where SURFLEX comes along. The 100% recycled yarn is made from post-consumer waste and possesses a compact yet soft, super stretch, breathable and hyper-resistant quality.
The continuous research applied to watersport fabrics has been transferred to our urban style garments, making RRD one of the reference companies for high-performance clothing. Over time we have reinvigorated and revolutionised by presenting iconic, contemporary and avant-garde collections capable of inspiring innovation, while combining our history with a mix of design, art, literature and engineering in order to create high-performing products. In this journey of transformation and discovery, SURFLEX was born, which underwent constant testing and improvement to become the ideal raw material capable of adapting to our desire for aesthetic minimalism combined with experimentation. A techno-fabric with the capability to be used in a wide range of products, from outerwear to trousers, from classic shirts to t-shirts, from dresses to sweaters.
